[Air Skirmish]

That was awesome!

That was one of the best original cartoons I've seen, I say cartoon, it was better than a cartoon. The way you used the sounds especially impressed me, aswell as the very dynamic animation styles you used. Obviously the 3D stuff made it look even better.
I am impressed with this, it wasn't too long either. I like the pilot's total lack of formality in the situation aswell, "Let's go kill this fuckwit!"

Pure gold! Definately deserving of the front page, this should be in the top 50!
Make more, but not with jets, try maybe a realistic tank battle? It's just a thought, but it would be another hit for definate if it was to that quality!

Cheers man - my next movie will be better than this, I didn't polish this too much, and I was worried it wouldn't even make the dailies! I'm so happy about this front page thing! Although now like, 25000 people have heard my crappy voice acting which is kinda embarassing, I had to leave the room when the girl watched it I was so embarassed lol. It looks like incoprorating 3D is a strongpoint of mine so I'll be making more like this, thanks for the review!

I can tell you put a lot of effort into this. I know flash is hard at first (it'll only get harder). The planes were very well drawn, I don't know how you might have done them but well done. The markings on the sides of the planes do change from plane to plane, so you might want to change them for episode 2 rather than just copying them. It didn't make a big deal but considering you put so much effort in already I wouldn't have thought it'd be that hard.

You have the same problem as I did with my first flashes, it goes very slow. You end up watching a plane fly by for about 10 seconds, which is far too long. To improve the quality of the flash, especially one like this, it's good to make the action more fast-paced and intense to give you the feeling that the planes are going really quick (as they obviously would have been). Would also be nice to see a human element to the movie other than the officers around the radar table, maybe a pilot or two so we actually know who's gonna be getting shot at, that would increase the depth of the story a bit.

The only graphically disappointing bit was the fire on the radar station at the end, it looked totally wrong. I find fire is better drawn by doing each frame seperately rather than trying to tween a single graphic, because it ends up looking like a blob moving around pointlessly.

Another thing is sound, I realise sounds for this kind of stuff is hard to come across. I find a good resource for sounds are games, do you have any flying games? If you go into the Local Disk (C: Drive) and go into program files, you can usually access sound effects from your own computer games. You can also download sound effects from websites like flashkit.

Anyway, I hope that I've given you a few things to work with anyway. The main thing that needs sorting is definately the speed of it... Speed it up, viewers don't need to stare at a plane ambling past slowly for any great length of time!

Hmmm...

Wow, a lot of people would disagree with this. This is a mild form of Exoxenopatriotism (my made-up word meaning someone who likes another country more than their own). Certainly, Americans are the fattest... Highest yokel rate... They are certainly good at a lot of things... like wearing loud Hawaiian shirts when on holiday (vacation). I like certain parts of American culture, such as American "Football" though they barely use their feet and they have the loud "we're more important than you" attitude to use the term soccer when referring to English (and real) Football, where we do use our feet, all the time. And yes, I realise that English people came up with both the 'soccer' and 'football' names.
Yeah, these kinds of animations seem to spark up essays by people who love/hate America. I wouldn't live there, but I wouldn't mind being a teenager there. Too late for me though... I'm over 18. Hey something that really sucks for Americans, they'll have to wait 3 more years than me to start legally drinking. ;o)

America to me is just another country, albeit a rather 'powerful' country, but I have been to loads of countries which rock harder than the States. I didn't make it to diss America nor glorify it. I thought this was good.
The robots looked totally shit which was good. The plot was average, which was good. The <scene missing> bit was hilarious, which was good. If I had blinked when that came on I woulda missed it, so I'm glad I didn't.
This was shit, but that's why it's good so I'd say make more, but don't. Please.
Incase you were thinking of making a sequel, don't. This is gold, and a sequel would destroy the blam-shield that this has.
